Porsche Boxster evolution

First-generation Boxster; introduced Porsche's water-cooled flat-six and the shared 986/996 front-end design.

Second generation; revised styling with separate headlights, more power, and the addition of the Boxster Spyder.

Third generation; all-new lighter body, longer wheelbase, and electromechanical steering.

Fourth generation, rebranded 718 Boxster; turbocharged flat-four engines (flat-six returns in GTS 4.0 and Spyder). Production wound down in 2025; the all-electric successor is delayed to ~2027 and not yet in production (held).
